Design
Layrd provided initial renders and reference imagery to define the overall composition and aesthetic direction. From there, our focus shifted to refining material choice, colour variation, and layout to ensure the design delivered a strong visual rhythm across the full bar front.
Copper liquid metal was selected for its richness, depth, and ability to complement the wider interior scheme. Using liquid metal also allowed us to achieve subtle tonal variation and a seamless finish that would be difficult to achieve with traditional metal sheets or metallic paints.

Make
The process began with preparing thousands of individual guitar plectrums for finishing. Each plectrum was carefully fixed in place ready for cold spraying. Three bespoke copper tones were mixed and applied across 7,500 plectrums, with each piece hand-finished to achieve subtle variation and depth.
Once complete, the backing boards were spray-finished and every plectrum was positioned by hand in precise rows, ensuring consistent spacing and alignment throughout. Alongside the copper-toned pieces, a selection of Ed Sheeran’s personalised plectrums were incorporated into the design. These were evenly distributed across the surface while maintaining a deliberately random pattern to add visual interest and authenticity.
To protect the finish and suit the demands of a bar environment, the completed panels were encapsulated in resin. This prevents oxidation of the copper surface and creates a durable, easy-to-clean finish. The boards were then trimmed to final size and prepared for installation.

Reveal
Our team completed the final installation on site at Ipswich Town F.C., ensuring the bar front integrated seamlessly with the surrounding interior.
The finished piece is a bold focal point, rich in detail and unmistakably Ed Sheeran-inspired. The copper-toned plectrums deliver warmth, texture, and character, while showcasing the flexibility of liquid metal as a specialist finish.
This project is a strong example of Revelare’s in-house creativity, our ability to respond to unique client briefs, and the versatility of liquid metal in achieving seamless, durable finishes that traditional coatings would struggle to replicate.
