On Site at an Irish Distillers

Design

We began by running adhesion and finish tests on stainless steel samples. These informed the practicalities of applying copper liquid metal to a consistent standard. Working closely with the client, we explored options for the location of treatment: either at Revelare’s Peterborough facility or directly on-site in Cork, Ireland. Logistics, access requirements, and performance testing were all factored into the planning stage. The unique demands of a working distillery environment meant extensive collaboration was required.

Make

Due to the size and practically of the project we applied on site, so a team of four craftsmen flew out to site in Ireland. To ensure the very best quality finish we began by conducting on site trials to the stainless-steel pieces to validate the copper finish under heat and pressure of real-world conditions.

Next the team prepared the three tanks to ensure optimal bonding of the copper layer. To ensure a continuous and seamless finish, we created ‘A’ frames to suspend the tank and allow them to rotate. The liquid metal was then applied by our skilled artisans, followed by the polishing process that took several days to complete. Finally, a satin lacquer finish was applied for durability. The team showed their skill ensuring consistent quality over a large area and multiple tanks.

The final tanks combined practicality with visual impact, showcasing the warmth and age of copper while meeting the rigorous demands of a working distillery environment. This project required our technical expertise on site as a reliable partner for our client.
